#25 - 1988 Volvo B10M midi

Coach #25 is a 1988 Volvo B10M midibus with Volgren bodywork. This nimble little coach started it's working life with the Driver Group in Victoria, where it operated day tours in / around Melbourne.

Whilst in Driver ownership, the coach featured numerous liveries including Pioneer Tours (for their Melbourne sightseeing operations), then later in Great Sights livery (a spin off from Pioneer).

Pioneer, Ansett Pioneer and Pioneer Tours were synonymous with touring across Australia , particularly in the 1970s, '80s and '90s.

In the late '90s, the coach was purchased by Tigerline Coaches in Hobart, to operate day tours and extended tours across the state.

The coach features air conditioning, toilet, 30 reclining (seat-belted) seats, TV / DVD and a 6spd synchromesh manual transmission.

In the early 2000s, the coach was transferred into the Tassielink side of Tigerline's operation, to operate rural services to smaller remote regions of the state, where big capacity wasn't required..

In 2010, the coach was purchased by Neil Colley of Tamar Valley Coaches and saw further operation as a school / charter coach for his operation. By 2018, the coach was becoming too old for contract school runs, so it was semi-retired, used sparingly if other vehicles were unavailable..

It was decided by Neil Cooley, to donate the coach to the Society in 2020, after the vehicle was no longer required and newer vehicles were purchased.

The Tasmanian Bus & Coach Society thank Mr Cooley for his generous offer, with a ideal smaller vehicle for the Society's fleet, which will serve a purpose for the Society, rather than operating larger coaches on Society events.
